Course Overview

Stroke is one of the most crucial neurological disorders of our time.
According to WHO, annually, 15 million people worldwide suffer a stroke. Of these, 5 million die and another 5 million are left permanently disabled.

Rehabilitation and treatment using Ayurveda, combined with physiotherapy, soon (two weeks) after stroke has shown remarkable results. The role of the ayurvedic physician is to make the patient maximize the ability to move and to take oral feeds without the help of a nasogastric tube.

The treatment includes internal medicines along with ayurvedic massages and other external treatments. The patient would be ambulant maximally with the help of our treatment. The Ayurveda doctor must have proper knowledge of the different stages the patient would be going through. They should also be able to assess the body nature of the patient according to vata, pitta, and kapha, to determine what treatment to prescribe at each stage.

Dr. Chandran is a senior physician qualified and experienced in both modern medicine and Ayurveda. His medical training includes study at Kozhikode Medical College in Kerala) where he earned his MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery) and Diploma in Ayurvedic Medicine (course duration 4 1/2 years) from the iconic Arya Vaidya Sala in Kottakkal. He has close to four decades of experience practicing both Modern Medicine and Ayurveda.
